Christopher Copeland
Painting outdoors on location, Copeland's main concern has been to record nature's transient moments. Using loose but controlled brushwork, he works quickly to capture the atmospheric effects of light, shadow and color as they play on the land.
A 1983 graduate of the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, Minnesota, the artist has participated in numerous exhibitions beginning in 1986. His pastels may be found in corporate collections such as Marshall Fields, Mayo Clinic and Cargill Corporation. In 2007 Copeland was the recipient of Minnesota State Arts Board Fellowship Grant.
