There he received an art scholarship to attend Weber State University where he worked towards a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education. After teaching art for one year, Mac attended Brigham Young University where he was awarded a Master of Fine Arts in painting, drawing, and sculpture. After seven years of university training and twenty-nine years of teaching art, Mac now directs his energy toward teaching himself. As a practicing artist his works range from traditional to abstract. He works in watercolor, oil, gouache, pastel, and mixed media.
